That which you demand from others...

Hey there, Ana’s Time Club! 💌

Today, I want to share something deeply personal that’s been echoing in my mind—something I’ve been working through in therapy with the help of my therapist. I’m not a professional, but I want to pass along what I’ve learned, in the hopes that it might bring you some clarity and peace too.

This exercise has been a game-changer for me, and I feel like if we do this together, it could be a step toward living a more balanced life. So let’s dive in.

So let’s dive in, together.

Take a moment and ask yourself honestly: What are the things you constantly expect from others? This isn’t about blaming or shaming—this is just for you.

Pause. Breathe.

What do you often demand from your partner? Your friends? Your kids? Your boss? Maybe it sounds a little like:
“Why don’t you pay more attention to me?”
“I’m always the one who has to make the effort.”
“I feel like I’m always left out.”
“No one ever listens or supports me when I need it.”

Do any of these sound familiar?

Now, here’s where it gets real. 💡 With all the love in my heart, I want to tell you this: everything you seek from others often stems from something you lacked in your own childhood. Those unmet needs—feeling unloved, overlooked, or unsafe—are still within you, longing to be filled.

But here’s the good news. You don’t have to stay in that space of pain forever. Pain is a powerful teacher, and when you choose to reflect on it and turn it into wisdom, your entire life begins to change. 🌟

Each time we process these emotions and allow ourselves to heal, we stop repeating the patterns of the past. We become adults—true adults—not just by age, but by choosing how we want to live, free from the limitations of our upbringing.

This isn’t an easy journey, but let me remind you: your growth is in your hands. When we decide to transform our pain into wisdom, we break free from the life our parents or circumstances shaped for us. We step into the life we choose for ourselves.

Every wound can either hold us back or push us forward. And the best part? YOU get to decide.

Take this reflection to heart today, and remember: the only person who can give you what you seek is you.

With love and always cheering you on,
Anama Gómez 💛✨

P.S. I’d love to hear how this reflection resonates with you! Feel free to hit reply and share your thoughts. We’re all in this together. 🌱
