Hello Members of Ana's Time Club!

There is a book I always return to when I want to delve into the fascinating world of love: Love is Like a Story by Robert J. Sternberg. He’s a genius in this field, offering incredibly revealing insights into how our personal stories shape our romantic relationships, and this book has provided me with tools to heal broken hearts. Each of us has a unique love narrative, a sort of script that guides how we interpret our relationships.

If you've ever exited one relationship only to find yourself in a similar one, it’s likely you’re following the script of your love story.

The Love Stories We Tell

According to Sternberg, there are different types of love stories. For example:

🐼 The Adventure Story: Here, love is exciting, full of surprises and adrenaline.

🐼 The Movie Story: Dramatic love with highs and lows, tears and laughter.

🐼 The Country House Story: Calm, simple love, full of peace.

Understanding your dominant story can help you comprehend why you choose certain people and why your relationships follow certain patterns.

💔 Healing a Broken Heart: My Reflection

It’s essential to reflect on which aspects of our love story are helpful and which might be limiting us. This might involve changing our perspective on what we expect from love and what we are willing to give. It’s also crucial to seek support during this process, whether through friends, family, or professionals, who can offer new perspectives and help us see our stories from different angles.

TRY THIS OUT + PLANS FOT THOSE WHO HAVE NO PLANS

It's time to get to work. Take a notebook and write your love story. What patterns do you see? What type of story have you been following? Then, write how you would like your love story to be. Be detailed and specific. Rewrite your script!

Questions for Reflection

  • What habits do I want to change in my relationships?

  • Am I following a love story that truly serves me?

  • How can I transform my past experiences into positive lessons?

My loves, understanding our love stories gives us the power to transform pain into wisdom. By rewriting our narrative, we lay the groundwork for richer and more meaningful relationships. The key to healing a broken heart lies in understanding and redesigning the story we carry within us. And as Natala Lafuorcade said in her song... 🌹🌹🌹
